Training: Our collective members provide a number of training workshops. Our training packages offered below can be customised to suit your service. Training is offered both in person and online.

Journey of Integrated Practise with First Nations Families and Communities

Focuses on working with practitioners in the child protection system who are working with Aboriginal children, young people and families. The training takes the learner on a journey of First Nations worldviews, legislations and policies informing child safety, working through challenges in the systems, trauma frameworks and current practise frameworks that will improve the way you are working with Aboriginal children, young people and families.

The training package is offered with 4 training sessions and four review sessions. This package is a partnership package offered with TunedIn Consultancy and includes First Nations Guest Speakers.

Culturally Responsive Trauma Integrated Practise

This training will give you foundations for working within a culturally responsive trauma informed framework. You will walk away from this training knowing why and how to provide trauma informed care is a culturally responsive way. The training will give a good balance of theory, current context and practical focus.

This training consider culturally responsive trauma specific focus – so well suited to practitioners and services who are providing support to victims and survivors of genocide, stolen generation, child/sexual assault, domestic/family violence, child abuse and neglect

Lawyerly Yarns:
This training is for lawyers and people working in the justice and law industry. This training will give you skills in how to have lawyerly trauma informed practise, including protocols to support you in your daily practise.

Cultural Humility

This training is for practitioner and services who wanting to extend their framework of cultural awareness training. We will work with you to develop a framework of cultural humility that can support you when working with First Nations people. It will also pick up on themes of cultural safety.

These workshops are suitable for those who are working in policy, community or clinical settings, practitioners, and managers working with Aboriginal clients and communities.

Can be offered in half day or full day with review sessions.

Critical Practise with First Nations People

This workshop is like no other. We will teach you how to use the River Ecology tool that can support you working with people who have experienced trauma, managing mental health, or experiencing grief and loss.

The tool will enhance your clinical practise with individuals and groups. It will give you a culturally safe tool to use in your work. The River Ecology comes with practise guidelines to support you.

This workshop is recommended for one full day including a review session.

The River Ecology

The workshops will provide participants with the opportunity to understand what trauma-informed care is, the guiding principles and frameworks, and how to respond in a culturally proficiency trauma-informed way.

These workshops are suitable for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal employees working in healthcare, disability, justice, education, child protection and employment.

Decolonised Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

This training offers you a decolonised approach to practising Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)with individuals and groups. DBT, is based on dialectical and biosocial theory, and incorporates skills training to help people manage emotions, improve interpersonal relationships and self-image. Our training provides a culturally safe framework and culturally enriched skills to support the work you are doing.

This workshop is recommended for one full day including a review session.

Connecting with Families in a Decolonised Way

Are you supporting First Nations families and children? Interested in enhancing you framework to ensure cultural safety and responsiveness? Well then, this is worth your time.

Our package will assist you in developing a strength based culturally safe framework to work with children, families who may be experiencing trauma, distress, or grief or loss.

This training is suitable for those working in child protection, health, justice or education settings.

This workshop is recommended for one full day including a review session.

Vicarious Trauma and Resilience

The workshop explores the concepts and complexity of vicarious trauma and the impact on the social, emotional and physical wellbeing of those who experience it. Vicarious trauma is common in the fields of healthcare, child protection, disability and justice. This workshop is strength based and will enhance your hopefulness to continue working in the field of trauma and healing.

This workshop help you formulate a self-care plan immersed in ethics, values and fostering healthy professional boundaries.

The workshop is suitable for any employee working in healthcare, trauma services, disability, child protection, justice and education services.

Managing with Cultural Humility

This workshop has been designed to assist Managers who supervise culturally diverse groups and teams. We can help you unlock ways to support teams in a culturally safe, trauma informed way, giving you confidence to move beyond tensions and team dynamics.

The training package is offered with two training sessions and two review sessions.

Solidarity and Allyship

Interested in getting straight to the point and working on yourself and systems that divide? Then this is your workshop to dive in to.

We won’t be shying away from conversations about critical race theory, white privilege. We will work with you to develop solid footing for your services to be work towards strategies to eradicate racism and discrimination in the workplace, and becoming stronger and genuine allies.

Blak Joy

This workshop creates a culturally safe space for First Nations workers to connect and support each other in the work you may be doing. It is a culturally connected and sacred yarning space.

It is important that First Nations people have safe spaces to connect and discuss the work we do, and consider theories on blak joy as an important part of our collective experience. Experience how this can enhance your self-care strategies, develop cultural safe frameworks and responses to manage challenges in the workplace.

It is also a place to celebrate your collective deadliness- and why this is so uplifting the face of racism, discrimination and injustice.

Grief and Loss

This package will support your work with individuals or communities who are experiencing grief or loss. We will work with you in a client centred and decolonised way.

Grief or loss can occur in many ways, not just the passing of people who are loss, but also grief and loss that occurs in other circumstances, such as trauma.

Can be offered as a one day package with one review session.

Nurturing the Spirit

This workshop focuses on holistic health and wellbeing.

This unique healing workshop incorporates Aboriginal healing concepts, trauma informed yoga, mindfulness, breath work and sound therapy. We can develop specific packages for trauma survivors, those who are supporting trauma survivors and those wanting to increase their own health and well-being.

Heartspace with Drumming

We offer the heartspace with drumming program in different settings. This program is relevant for team building and collaboration, groupwork and therapeutic practises, and even supervision spaces. It is dynamic and fun, but also brings trauma and healing expertise. It is great for working with young people.

Therapeutic Art

Our therapeutic art workshop can be facilitated with small groups and teams who are working on their own healing or support others in their healing pathways. This is suitable for all ages, genders and culturally diverse group.

We can run this specific for Aboriginal participants.

Yoga, dance and body movement

We can offer yoga body movement or dance workshops from teens, groups or individuals. Dance workshops can be aboriginal specific, all our practitioner have extensive years of experience and can work with you in an interactive way. Our Practitioners work with all ages, cultural backgrounds and genders.
